We are slap in the middle of food festival season and I don’t know about y’all, but I’m enjoying it immensely (and my pants are getting tight). This weekend brings us some truly delectable events that will delight any food lover. Here’s your lineup of stellar culinary happenings not to be missed.
Cured, Pickled & Sauced at Delicatus
Friday, April 28: 6:45 PM
This boozy evening will pair all things cured and pickled with Captive Spirits‘ Big Gin. This will be a veritable plethora of small plates that will explore the gamut of styles and flavors with the linking theme of the dinner being the culinary traditions of pickling and curing from across the globe. Tickets are $70 per person and includes tax, tip and booze.

Bacon and Beer Classic at Safeco Field
Saturday, April 29: Session 1: 1 – 4 PM, Session 2: 7 – 10 PM
Dozens of restaurants and breweries will come together on Saturday at Safeco Field to bring Seattle one of my favorite food events of the year – the Bacon and Beer Classic. More than 80 craft beers and 30 bacon-infused dishes will be served at this delicious celebration. If you’re a baseball lover I reccommend purchasing VIP tickets, it will get you in to the event an hour early and give you access to the field so you can take pics by home plate and in the dugout (I’m not a huge baseball fan and I still think this is really cool).

Cochon555 at Fairmont Olympic Hotel
Sunday, April 30: 4 – 7:30 PM
This is truly an epic culinary experience that pairs five local chefs, 5 pigs and 5 winemakers. The chefs were delivered a full heritage breed pig earlier this week to break down and create six dishes with that will be served up and judged Sunday (and I can not wait). The collection of rock star chefs they’re bringing together for this event is impressive and includes Derek Ronspies of Le Petit Cochon, Mitch Mayers of Lark, Addam Buzzalini of Tavolàta Belltown, Brian Clevenger of Vendemmia and Josh Henderson and Derek Simcik of Scout. Dozens of chef crafted pork centered tastings will be served along with 40+ world class wines, cocktails and craft beers.
