The State Hotel Will Steal Your Heart

February 19, 2021

The State Hotel has a special place in my heart. It’s our old neighborhood; I lived two blocks from here for the seven years I lived in Seattle. When we stay here, I feel like I’m home. But it’s not just because of the location; it’s because of their amazing team (they know us by name and visa versa) and the incredible attention to detail when it comes to hospitality. To top it off, it’s one of the most aesthetically impressive hotels I’ve ever seen, it’s right across the street from Pike Place Market, and it’s home to one of my all-time favorite restaurants, Ben Paris. Read on for a look at this special hotel in the heart of the city.

The Rooms + Hotel are STUNNING

Modern, chic and eye-catching, I love the vibe of The State Hotel. I don’t think words can do it justice so I’ve done my best to capture it for you here. I think you’ll agree it’s absolutely magical, from the wallpaper to the bathrooms.

All of the wallpaper in The State Hotel was designed by Portland artist Kate Blair Stone and was inspired by Pike Place Market. It’s an absolutely stunning touch to the hotel.

Ben Paris is Open for Indoor Dining, Delivery and Takout!

Ben Paris has been one of our favorite restaurants in Seattle since they opened. Executive Chef Quinton Stewart and Bar Manager Abigail Gullo are absolutely killing it in the food and drink department. I highly recommend you try the buttermilk hushpuppies; they are Alabama girl approved!

Chef Quinton’s Beef tartar is magical and Abigail is a goddess when it comes to cocktails and wine selection. You won’t find a better experience in Seattle.

Ben Paris In-Room Dining

Yes, Ben Paris is open for 25% capacity indoor dining, but if you’re looking for a more socially distanced way to experience their incredible menu, I highly recommend their in-room dining! You can dine inside one of the stunning rooms at the State Hotel for the ultimate private dining experience. Have your pre-fixed dinner dropped off contact-free at your door, and enjoy all the bottled cocktails and wine that your heart desires; the room is fully stocked! Overnight kits are in the room if you want to stay the night ;). Call them at 206-513-7303 to book this; you’ll be glad you did!

Pike Place Market is Across the Street

Having Pike Place Market directly across the street makes The State the quintessential Seattle hotel in my opinion. No trip to Seattle is complete without it, and the Market is starting to feel a bit more “normal” these days. Take a morning (or a whole day!) and walk, eat and drink your way through Pike Place!

I insist you go to Honest Biscuits for breakfast. Marcus got the Fried Chicken Biscuit and I got the Bacon, Egg and Cheese. DROOL.

Make sure to pick up some tulips. They are so affordable and bring so much joy. I got three dozen on this trip and they brightened up our house for days and I used them in lots of photoshoots. I deeply miss living next to the Market and having access to these gorgeous and incredibly affordable flowers.

Walks through the Market with my two guys made for a pretty perfect Saturday.
