What I’m Obsessed with Right Now at Stacks Burgers

March 29, 2018

The Beast STACKS

The Beast

It’s no secret that I adore Stacks Burgers. I’ve had a bit of an obsession ever since I discovered them at the Bite of Seattle in 2016.  I love them so much in fact, that I will go all the way down to Federal Way for lunch there (and if you know me, you know getting me to leave my little downtown bubble is quite the task). I made the short journey down a couple weeks ago to try some of the new things on the menu and to help recreate the Stephanie Forrer Burger, the stack I created last year that’s going to be resurrected and available as a special from April to June!

There are a lot of reasons I love Stacks, but the biggest is the commitment they have to quality, local ingredients and farms.  Their signature 4oz hand formed patties are made from 100% grass fed, hormone free, pasture raised northwest beef from Double R Ranch in northeastern Washington state. I happen to know the Stacks team has actually taken the time to visit the ranch and see where their beef comes from so they know they’re providing their customers with excellent quality from a Pacific Northwest farm. They use Tillamook Cheese from northern Oregon, fresh produce from Sterino Farms in Puyallup and finish their little masterpieces with toasty buns from Federal Way’s The Bread Garden, which by the way are some of the most perfect burger buns I have ever put in my mouth. One of the most important things about a burger is the bread and how it holds up and this bread passes with flying colors.

Here are my favorite things happening on the menu right now at Stacks:

Loaded Skillet Fries Chicken, Bacon, Ranch, Queso Blanco

KOREAN BBQ STACK

Korean BBQ Stack: 4oz beef, cheddar, bacon, crispy onion strings, house-made bbq sauce

Fried Chicken STACK

Fried Chicken Stack: fried chicken, swiss, bacon, house slaw, pickles, pesto aioli

The Beast 2 STACKS

The Beast: 12oz beef, American, bacon, crispy onion strings, house-made bbq sauce

Steph Forrer Burger STACKS

The Stephanie Forrer Stack: 4oz burger, American, bacon, sunny egg, avocado spread, lettuce, tomato and caramel onion

Well, of course my favorite thing on the menu is the burger I got to create myself! The Stacks team let me dream up this burger last year and they featured it as their burger special in May. It was so popular they are bringing it back this spring and you can get it from April 1st until the end of June! Y’all I love this burger; it is so classic with a little extra something. The beef patty, American cheese and bacon create the traditional delicious burger foundation and the avocado spread and sunny egg just set it off.

When you don’t know which burger to eat first…

If you haven’t had Stacks yet then you are not living your best burger life, guys – trust me.  Get to Federal Way and try some of their bomb burgers and loaded skillet fries. Don’t make it down to the Tacoma area very often? No worries! Stacks also has an awesome food truck that roams Seattle and is in the South Lake Union and Bellevue areas weekly. Follow them on Twitter @Stacksburgers1 for updates on where they’ll be next!
