Seattle Restaurant Week is Here and This is What it Looks Like at Soi

April 2, 2018

Soi SRW

Seattle Restaurant Week is back and y’all know what that means – get a two course lunch for $18 or a three course dinner for just $33 at participating restaurants (over 165 total!). SRW runs April 2 – April 19,  is available Sunday through Thursday, and it starts TODAY! I love Seattle Restaurant Week because it’s a great way to try some really fantastic local restaurants at a super reasonable price. As I’m writing this I’m getting lost in the list of restaurants participating this year and thinking (and drooling) about all the yummy places I want to try. This weekend I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek of the entire SRW menu for one of my favorite Seattle restaurants – Soi in Capitol Hill. At Soi, they specialize in “not your typical thai” because while the food is authentic, it is Northern Thailand specific and you will definitely find things on the menu you don’t normally think of when you think of traditional Thai food.

Without and further further ado, here is Soi’s lineup for SRW 2018:

Soi SRW Course 1

Course One Options, clockwise from the front:

1) Pandan Leag Wrapped Chicken, 2) Tom Yum Koong, 3) Cripsy Garlic Tofu

Soi SRW Pandan Leaf Wrapped Chicken

Pandan Leaf Wrapped Chicken: chicken thigh + pandan leaf + sweet soy sauce + sesame

Soi SRW Tom Yum Koong

Tom Yum Koong: shrimp + button mushrooms + spicy clear broth

 Soi SRW Crispy Garlic Tofu

Crispy Garlic Tofu: fresh, local tofu + chili paste + garlic +fish sauce

Soi SRW Course 2

Course Two Options, clockwise from the from front:

1) Si Krong Moo Yahng, 2) Hor Mok Seafood, 3) Yum Het Nam Tok

Soi SRW Si Krong Moo Yahng

Si Krong Moo Yahng: baby back ribs + tamarind + toasted rice + sicky rice

Soi SRW Hor Mok Seafood

Hor Mok Seafood: prawns + scallops + calamari + mussels + red curry in a young coconut shell

Soi SRW Yum Het Nam Tok

Yum Het Nam Tok: grilled portabella + fish sauce + mint + local tofu

Soi SRW Course 3

Course Three Options:

Egg Custard with Sweet Sticky Rice: coconut milk soaked rice + custard

Ice Cream: Toasted Coconut + Madagascar Vanilla  Cashew Nut

I got to taste test almost this entire menu and I must say, everything was stellar with my personal favorite being the Tom Yum Koong (the spicy shrimp and mushroom soup). There is a fantastic collection of Seattle restaurants participating in SRW this year; here’s my list of places I’m most excited about (besides Soi): Le Petit Cochon, San Fermo, Nirmal’s, Adana, Heartwood Provisions, Lecosho, Tavolata, Sushi Kappo Tamura, Aqua by El Gaucho and Lark. Get the full list of restaurants and their menus on the SRW website! Happy eating y’all!
