Last month I had the pleasure of eating and drinking myself through the delicious city of Chicago and one of my very favorite experiences was Kumiko. This intimate, sophisticated Japanese cocktail bar scores on all accounts – food, service and ambiance. A beautiful bar and sleek, airy space set the backdrop for what promises to be a sensational experience here. Bites like pork belly steam buns, nigiri and Japanese milk bread are served here, and you can also opt for a seven course tasting menu at their downstairs bar, KikkÅ (an experience I will definitely be back for). Here’s just a peek behind the bar at Kumiko, as I sat mesmerized for an hour trying different snacks and watching Sammy make drinks.
