A Look at The Elysian Bar: Just Named One of America’s Best New Restaurants by Bon Appetit (New Orleans)

October 14, 2019

Last month the boyfriend and I spent nine incredibly gluttonous days in the very vibrant (and very delicious!) city of New Orleans. Right before we left, Bon Appetit announced their “Hot 10: America’s Best New Restaurants” and to my delight, the The Elysian Bar of New Orleans was #5 on that list. We actually stayed at the Hotel Peter and Paul (a reservation I made months ago), the hotel that’s home to The Elysian Bar so I got to eat here multiple times (and everything I consumed here was divine). Let’s take a look at the stunning spaces and dishes of The Elysian Bar, one of the best new restaurants in America!

Roasted Gulf Shrimp with calabrian chili butter, oregano, preserved lemon and bottarga breadcrumbs
Heirloom Red Grits & Smashed Cucumbers and Chilis
Smashed Cucumbers and Chili with buttermilk vinaigrette, dill, Thai chili and benne seed
Buttermilk Ice Box Pie
Ramazzotti Rosato Sprtiz
Cocchi Americano Spritz
The Port Town Cooler: aged rum, letherbee besk, lemon, cinnamon syrup, blood orange saison & peychaud’s bitters
Grilled Okra and Crispy Eggplant with harissa, crème fraiche, black sesame, roasted peanut and toasted cumin crunch .
Whipped Ricotta with sourdough flatbread, marinated squash, tapenade vinaigrette.
