The Seattle Burger: 6 oz grassfed beef, jalapeno-cheddar bratwurst, onion, smoky cream cheese, hot sauce
Quality Athletics – where Sports Bar and Full Service Restaurant meet in Pioneer Square. I can’t get enough of this place; it’s my go to before a Sounders game as they are killing it in both the food and booze departments (but today we’re going to talk about the food). I had the pleasure of visiting these guys last night and the food put out of the kitchen by Chef Daniel Cox was truly impressive. This spot is clearly a marriage of sports bar and fine dining and I am super into the vibe they’ve created. If you haven’t been to QA yet, get yourself there. Let’s start with something super classic on the menu: the Seattle Burger. Oh my gosh, thank you for making this exist Chef Cox. We absolutely need this to be a world where you can get a jalapeno-cheddar bratwurst on your burger.
Vietnamese Take-Out Wings: fish sauce, crunchy noodles, lime
Have mercy people; the wings they are serving at Quality Athletics are scary good. And I absolutely love that this is a sports bar not doing traditional hot wings or barbecue wings. I’m into the presentation as well, bravo QA.
Spicy Prawn Tom Kha Soup: Bird’s Beak chile, mushroom, bok choy, coconut, lime
Well, it was all delicious people but this was my favorite dish of the evening. It was so flavorful and now that I’m thinking about it I want it again. This and a cold beer would be absolute perfection. I’ll be back for this (and soon).
The Fried Chicken Sando: smoked red aioli, greens, honey drizzle
Well, y’all know I’m from Alabama and as a result of that I know good fried chicken and this was a damn good fried chicken sandwich. This bad boy is new to the menu but I have a feeling it’s here to stay (please don’t take it away, I’ll cry).
Loaded Waffle Fries: slow cooked pork, pickles, kimchi ketchup and jalapeños
Last but certainly not least was this glorious stack of deliciousness – loaded waffle fries. Swoon. The slow cooked pork on these was stellar and so tender but the kimchi ketchup is what really sets this dish off. This glorious combination of pork and potatoes is what I think of when I think of “bar food” but done in such an elegant way. Quality Athletics is absolutely killing it and you’ll definitely find me there watching some Seahawk games this year while consuming massive amounts of their stellar food.
